Ganado, TX

After spending a few weeks at the campground on the Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi, TX we made our departure on a Saturday morning. Our plan was to travel a couple hundred miles and spend the night short of Huston. We were traveling on US-59 when we found The Shady Oaks RV Resort in Ganado, TX.

They do, in fact, have nice large oak trees with long level FHU pull-thru sites and CATV. Just what we were looking for. From there we planned on transiting Houston before noon on Sunday morning. We would make another stop east of Houston before getting to our next scheduled stop at the Naval Construction Base RV Park at Gulfport, MS.

Here are a few pictures taken at Shady Oaks and out transit thru Huston on US-59. We followed it to I-10 east. As you can see by the amount of traffic on the highways our plan on going thru Houston before noon on a Sunday was a good decision. Click on the pictures to enlarge them. The RV Park link is active.
