Dixieland Music & RV Park, Waldo, Florida

During the latter part of 2010 and on into 2011 we spent a lot of time in northeast Florida. My wife’s oldest brother was suffering from late stages of Leukemia and was spending a lot of time in various hospitals.

During one of his stays at the VA hospital in Gainesville we found the Dixieland Music & RV park in Waldo, which is the closest RV park to the hospital just an easy 18 miles away.

This park is under new ownership and will improve in a hurry. After talking with the owner we were assigned to a site under development. It was a pull thru, FHU and already had 50 amp electrical service. The best part was he let us have it for $100.00 a week, everything included and there were four of us. My wife’s sister and her husband followed us to FL and drove our little runaround car down. It would help a little with all the fuel we were going to use riding around.

All pictures can be enlarged just by clicking on them.

The RV Park owner maintains this trailer in the park and often stays there when park improvements are being made.

There are two entrance roads into the park. This is on the left. The office is on the other one.

The park lake/pond is deep and well stocked. Parking can be parallel, back-in or drive-in.

This was our site. In the first picture you can see the trucker parking are behind the service station. In the second picture you can see US-301 in the background.
